12:42 p.m. Carter rattles the tires off the line, pedals, loses traction and has to pedal again. He gets a little out of shape, then finally gives up on the run around half-track. Harker goes right down the groove and pulls away for the win.

Snyder gets the hole-shot and starts to pull away. Hagen starts to make up ground just past the sixty foot mark, then starts to move around and gets out of the groove. He starts to fall back again around half-track and Snyder pulls away for the win.

Snyder will have lane choice over Harker in round two.

Atchison gets a big hole-shot but goes up in smoke as soon as he hit the throttle and had to give up on the run. Bohl had serious engine problems after qualifying last night but was able to get the car going before first round. He goes right down the groove and pulls away for the win.

  502 Chris Foster 8 Bobby Martin

Martin had problems getting the engine to fire and wasn't able to do a burnout. Foster waits patiently for him to get to the line. They both hit the throttle, Foster gets about 300 feet out and the car noses over, not sure why. The lack of the burnout didn't seem to hurt Martin, he goes right down the groove with the quickest pass of the round to take the win.

martin will have lane choice over Bohl in round two.
